Networking Invitation Announcement: Peer-to-Peer Learning Opportunities
LOESS has developed many teaching materials and tools to raise awareness on soil health and improve teaching and learning situations inside and outside the classroom. This is an offer to share experiences from working with the materials, give insights on the implementation of supportive tools into teaching, or practices of working with communities and including real life problems into teaching or research.
We offer peer-to-peer (P2P) learning as a collaborative approach where learners practice, share, and improve skills together rather than through top-down instruction. It promotes active participation through conversation, peer feedback, and shared resources, which boosts confidence, and motivation, making it an effective, practical alternative to traditional, formal classroom teaching. Engaging with peers reduces the pressure felt in traditional, trainer or teacher-led environments and focuses on real-world usage rather than just theoretical background.
Together with you, the LOESS team will establish connections within its Communities of Practice, either face-to-face or online to define clear goals and expectations for peer interaction, such as using specific discourse structures, topics or sharing experiences on working with LOESS teaching materials. Please submit your expression of interest in a peer-learning and we will contact you for further arrangements. |

Have you read the first LOESS Policy Brief? |
Our study highlights gaps between current soil health education and the vision for its future across Europe:
Learning environments: Education is mostly indoors, but there’s a strong push for outdoor, field-based experiences. Educational approach: Teachers and experts call for a shift from fragmented, mechanical methods to holistic, ecological learning. Learning methods: Experiential, cross-disciplinary collaboration is seen as essential but still rare. Teaching style: There’s a desire for more student-centred learning, though traditional instruction still dominates. |
