|
From March 7 to 15, 2025, Austin will once again host the festival where technology, film, music, education and culture converge. |
SHOWCASE & FIESTA
After the big success in 2024 where The Spanish Wave presented 5 artists AIRU, LOS PREMIOS, YO DIABLO, IZARO and HINDS, in 2025 and, for the third consecutive time of the wave at the North American festival, the bet must be at the same level, celebrating its classic fiesta as an official reception “Meet The Spaniards” where delegates and professionals accredited to SXSW and international fans will be able to personally meet the artists and professionals of our country within an authentic Texan atmosphere.
Shangri La, the marvelous venue of the East of Austin with an outdoor stage on its fabulous patio with a cocktail bar and food trucks brimming with the authentic Texan atmosphere will host throughout the evening of Wednesday March 12th, once again, will host the fiesta & showcases of the artists CHLÖE`S CLUE, a cocktail of dramas, joys, existential puzzles and moral dilemmas that are sipped through a straw and that taste like delicious rhythms. ST. PEDRO, the artist from the Canary Islands with classic Latin rhythms and a current urban sound who has just swept the international public at the Netherlands festival ESNS 2025 and in London, IFF 2024, where he did not leave anyone indifferent with his mix of North American styles. LA CENDEJAS, the pop and urban music “Tsunami” from Madrid who also set the bar high at the last IFF and at Visa For Music in November where she told her personal experiences mixing bravery and rawness through her music, SULTANES DEL YONKE from El Paso (Texas), the border ultrasound quintet of drums and accordions with extravagant, colorful and danceable sounds and to complete a full hispano event, the artist from Ciudad de México and AMANTES DEL FUTURO, the futuristic supercumbia. This step that The Spanish Wave takes at SXSW represents support to unite, even more, our cultural roots with America in general and admiration for all the young and emerging artists of the continent who sing in Spanish, further strengthening and solidifying the bridge and relationships between our country and the great transatlantic talent and industry.

St. Pedro is the alias of the Canarian artist Pedro Hernández. After being a finalist in La Voz España in 2017, Pedro signed a record deal with Interscope Records, and a Management agreement with the prestigious company Lionfish Entertaiment of Rebeca León.
Born in Tejina, a town on the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands, Spain), St. Pedro studied music at the Professional Conservatory of Sta Cruz de Tenerife, where he trained in multiple disciplines such as percussion and piano.
At the beginning of 2024, St. Pedro won second place at the prestigious Benidorm Fest for his song “Dos Extraños (Cuarteto de Cuerda)”, being one of the most valued songs by both the professional jury and the public. His first studio album, “Esta Vida Que Elegí”, was released in February 2024 and represents a journey through those Latin American styles that have influenced the popular culture of the Canary Islands since the first decades of the 20th century. St. Pedro is presented by Lionfish Entertainment and Live Nation Spain. |
“The Border Ultrasound”, also known as Sultanes del Yonke, is making headlines as the freshest Latin sound on the border. Translated as “Sultans of the Junkyard,” the band currently reigns on the US-Mexico border in El Paso, Texas and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Led by the mysterious “El Felino Aguilar,” Sultanes has made it their life’s mission to spread the Mexican Junkyard sound WORLDWIDE. |
Born and raised in Madrid, La Cendejas (formerly known as Paula Cendejas) began her music career uploading covers on YouTube. She debuted as an artist in 2019 with the release of “Tu Cama” alongside singer Jesse Baez and Alizzz. After a series of singles, she released her debut EP “Contragolpe” in 2021, followed by her first studio album “FOMO” in 2023.
In 2024, she rebranded as La Cendejas while beginning the promotion of her new EP, “TSUNAMI.” Described as her most personal project to date, the six-song project explores themes of bravery and rawness, built from her personal experiences.
“For this project more than ever, I needed to feel that energy, that sensitivity that only a woman can provide. The understanding of a woman. This was the only way I truly felt I could convey the message behind my songs, clearly and not under the vision of a man,” she says. La Cendejas is presented by Magnus Agency and Live Nation Spain. |
AMANTES DEL FUTURO is the original project of the composer and producer Ima Felini who began his experiments in Cumbia in 2002. Since then he has dedicated himself to composing and producing various types of Cumbias for this project as well as for other groups. Amantes del Futuro bases its sound on its favorite styles: Colombian Cumbia, Sonidera, Rebajada, Editada, Poblana, Villera and Peruana, always looking for the link between electronic music and this ancient rhythm. |
