The specialized publication Engineering News-Record (ENR) has once again ranked ACS Group and HOCHTIEF in first place in its prestigious ENR Top 250 International Contractors ranking. This is the eighth time in the last ten years that the Group has led this ranking, which is considered the global benchmark for the construction and infrastructure sector. This recognition reinforces ACS Group’s position as the world’s largest international contractor and highlights the strength of its global strategy and its ability to generate sustainable growth in the main international markets.

ACS Group’s leadership is underpinned by solid operating and financial results. In 2025, the Group recorded sales of €49,848 million and reached a record backlog of €92,858 million, driven by growth in contract awards in strategic sectors such as data centers, digital infrastructure, energy, critical minerals, defense, healthcare, and sustainable transportation. The Group’s international scale is reflected in the fact that 92% of its backlog is outside Spain, with the United States and Canada accounting for 56% of the total, further strengthening its position in the world’s most dynamic infrastructure markets.

HOCHTIEF participates in major London power grid upgrade

HOCHTIEF has been awarded a contract as part of National Grid's North West London Upgrade program to help modernize and expand the electricity transmission network across Greater London. The project will be delivered by the Hochtief-Murphy Joint Venture (HMJV) in collaboration with project partners. 

The project includes the installation of 60 kilometres of new cable infrastructure, upgrades and expansions to substations, replacement of overhead lines, and extensive works on one of the UK's longest high-voltage cable tunnels.

Ambulatory Services Building at Good Samaritan Hospital

Turner and TriHealth celebrated the substantial completion of Phase One of the Ambulatory Services Building at Good Samaritan Hospital.

The five-story, 168,000-square-foot facility brings together essential and advanced healthcare services, including a new emergency department, an enhanced surgical institute, neurosciences, cancer and blood care, heart and vascular care, and women’s services. The facility also expands Good Samaritan’s diagnostic imaging capabilities.

In the education sector, Turner, together with its joint venture partners CARCON Industries and Source Building Group, celebrated the completion and opening of Texas A&M-Fort Worth’s eight-story, 22,111-square-meter Law and Education Building. The milestone marks the completion of the first phase of a multi-phase project to develop the Texas A&M University System Campus in downtown Fort Worth.

Resources Building Renovation in Sacramento, California.

Turner received the NAWIC Impact Award for Corporate Leadership, which recognizes organizations serving as catalysts for change by advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and access across the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. Turner was also recognized for Project Excellence for the Resources Building Renovation in Sacramento, California.

The Project Excellence Award recognizes Turner’s work on the $490 million Resources Building Renovation in Sacramento, California. The 17-story, 657,000-square-foot building underwent a complete transformation, including seismic upgrades, replacement of major building systems, and a new high-performance façade. Delivered through Progressive Design-Build, the project created a modern, sustainable workplace for the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency and achieved its Certificate of Occupancy more than two months ahead of schedule.

Dornan's Team

Dornan recently marked an important milestone on a major data centre project in Ireland, with a groundbreaking ceremony held on 20 July 2026.

Dornan is acting as General Contractor on the circa €48m development, with responsibility for the full civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical scope. The project brings together expertise from across the business to deliver a complex programme of construction and supporting infrastructure.

UGL selected by Vocus to develop major digital infrastructure initiative

UGL, a member of the CIMIC Group, has been selected by Vocus - a leading Australian digital infrastructure provider - as its development partner for the initial phase of the Australian Digital Infrastructure Platform, a major national fibre initiative designed to strengthen Australia's digital infrastructure and support future demand for AI, cloud and data centre connectivity.

UGL will deliver an early works program to support development of the project's first proposed route between Sydney and Melbourne. The initial program includes survey, design, engineering, field validation, stakeholder engagement, project management and cost modelling activities required to prepare the project for construction. 

Rendering of the Townsville Correctional Center Expansion Project

The Queensland Government has appointed CIMIC Group company CPB Contractors to deliver the Townsville Correction Centre Capacity Uplift Project as Managing Contractor.

Delivered in partnership with Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) and the Department of Housing and Public Works (DHPW), the project will provide 400 new beds in 200 additional cells, boosting prison capacity and helping to restore safety in Queensland.

The Townsville Correction Centre Capacity Uplift Project will deliver an approximately $730 million revenue to CPB Contractors.

UGL Transport renews long-term maintenance agreement with One Rail Australia

UGL Transport, a CIMIC Group company, has renewed its long-term maintenance agreement with One Rail Australia, extending a partnership that has supported the safe and reliable movement of freight across Australia's east coast for more than 15 years.

The five-year contract, with options to extend, covers maintenance and overhaul services for the majority of One Rail Australia's locomotive fleet, including rotables, engines and bogies.

Gordie Howe International Bridge

The ACS Group companies ACS Infrastructure (IRIDIUM) and FlatironDragados, celebrated the official opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America. Spanning the Detroit River between Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario.

Designed to provide modern capacity and long-overdue redundancy along one of North America's most critical trade corridors, the bridge strengthens the movement of people and goods that keep the Canadian and U.S. economies connected.

The Gordie Howe International Bridge is a 2.5-kilometre (1.5-mile), six-lane cable-stayed crossing spanning the Detroit River, with a clear main span of 0.75 kilometres (0.5 miles) — an engineering achievement unmatched anywhere on the continent.

Anderson Dam in Morgan Hill, California

FlatironDragados is leading a joint venture with Sukut Construction to deliver the $1.9 billion Anderson Dam Seismic Retrofit project in Morgan Hill, California, for the Santa Clara Valley Water District, known as Valley Water. Valley Water selected the joint venture through a best-value procurement process and has issued a “notice to proceed” with construction.

To meet modern seismic safety standards, project teams will rebuild major portions of Anderson Dam. Work includes reconstructing the dam embankment and spillway, installing new outlet infrastructure and completing related roadway, utility and environmental improvements.

Anderson Reservoir is Santa Clara County’s largest surface reservoir and supports water supply, groundwater recharge and incidental flood protection for nearly two million residents.

Mayrit tunnel boring machine

The Mayrit tunnel boring machine has excavated more than 2,500 meters since work began and is now heading toward Palos de la Frontera, where one of the project’s next major milestones will take place: the breakthrough between the different excavation fronts.

Operating 24 hours a day, Mayrit combines excavation with the immediate installation of the tunnel’s permanent lining. To date, it has installed nearly 1,500 concrete rings and removed more than 170,000 cubic meters of soil, while thousands of monitoring points and sensors track the behavior of the ground and the infrastructure itself.

As the underground work progresses, construction is also moving forward on the future stations that will form part of this key project to improve public transportation connections in Madrid.

Talher teams fighting wildfires

Talher, a Clece subsidiary specializing in environmental services, played a prominent role in combating the wave of wildfires that affected Castilla y León over the summer. As the flames swept through thousands of hectares in provinces including León, Zamora, Salamanca, Palencia, and Ávila, a total of 105 company professionals worked around the clock to extinguish and contain the fires. Their response involved helitack crews, night crews, and ground brigades deployed to some of the region’s most complex wildfires.
